Griffin, Vazquez winners in final prelims at UFC on Versus 4
PITTSBURGH -- Joe Stevenson lost in a unanimous decision over Javier Vazquez on Sunday night, with the judges seeing it 30-27, 29-28, 30-27.
Early in the first round, Vazquez ducked under a Stevenson punch to get a takedown, but Stevenson used it to grab his arm and pull it into an arm bar. Stevenson couldn't finish it, and Vazquez took over top position. After neither fighter was able to do much on the ground, they were stood up. Again, Vazquez took the fight to the ground, and again, not much was accomplished there.
Stevenson appeared in trouble in the second round when Vazquez jumped on for the guillotine. He could not finish, and the fight returned to stand-up. Stevenson looked sluggish for much of the bout. Vazquez never really took control, but managed to take advantage of Stevenson's lethargy by landing several straight shots.
For Stevenson, this was his fourth loss in a row, but his first fight at featherweight. He hasn't won a bout since 2009, and the wear of a career with 45 bouts appeared to show.
Griffin takes tight decision over Gamburyan
Tyson Griffin took the final decision of the UFC on Versus 4 undercard over Manny Gamburyan, 29-28, 29-28, 29-29.
Gamburyan started strong with a takedown early, and then used that to transition into a standing guillotine. When he couldn't finish that, he tossed Griffin to the ground, and took his back as Griffin stood up. Gamburyan then moved off his back, and finished the round clinching against the fence.
The two got into several violent tangles in the second round, exchanging several big strikes. In one of those dust-ups, Stevenson threw an inadvertent shot to Gamburyan's crotch, pausing the fight for a moment as Stevenson recovered. It happened again near the end of the round, and this time, Griffin seemed upset by the stoppage.
Griffin knocked Gamburyan down early in the third, but Gamburyan quickly returned to his feet. Gamburyan threw Griffin, but couldn't maintain control. Griffin ducked behind and landed several big strikes before Gamburyan maneuvered out. Griffin also used low leg kicks to tenderize Gamburyan's leg throughout the bout, giving him an edge in the bout.
This was Griffin's first bout at featherweight after spending years as a lightweight. He seemed well suited to the move down, staying strong throughout the three rounds.

Ever since they were first announced, the O Music Awards have proudly proclaimed themselves the untraditional alternative to the staid world of red carpets, acceptance speeches and celebrity glad-handing.
And for further proof of that point, consider the following: Though the inaugural O Music Awards won't premiere until April 28, the first award will be handed out on Monday at 4 p.m. ET ... and it's a big one.
For weeks, fans have been voting for the Most Innovative Music Video through the O Music Awards official site, and on Monday — in a roundtable debate moderated by MTV News' James Montgomery — a winner will be crowned.
The O Music Awards Debate for the Most Innovative Music Video, presented by FUZE®, will stream live on OMusicAwards.com and MTV.com. Joining Montgomery around the table will be acclaimed video director Wayne Isham, Mashable's Brenna Ehrlich and some super-secret celebrity guests.
The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and more will also take part in the discussion about just what makes a video truly innovative, and the folks who are nominated for the award — a list that includes Arcade Fire, Robyn, OK Go and Andy Grammer — will also Skype in to make the case for why their video deserves to be named Most Innovative.
On Monday morning, the original list of 10 nominees will be whittled down to the top five vote-getters, and then, during the debate, our roundtable and the Internet audience will cut that list down to the final three. At the very end, we'll announce the winner of the very first O Music Award for Most Innovative Video.
The inaugural O Music Awards will stream live from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on OMusicAwards.com. Tune in to see who will reign supreme in categories like Most Viral Dance, Funniest Music Short and NSFW Music Video!

Turn Google+ Into Facebook
<The social networking wars have dialed it up to 11 this week, with Google unleashing its highly anticipated (and highly leaked) Google+ social initiative upon the world on Tuesday -- to not a bad response, to be honest. So it's not that surprising that today Facebook countered the + hubbub with its own "we've got something awesome" unveiling planned for next week. You crazy kids!
The resemblance between the two social networks is uncanny -- my Tweet-length opinion is that Google+ is like Facebook with a more usable, streamlinedPhotos and Groups interface (and that might be enough to win). Only time will tell.

Mozilla Messaging reintegrates with Labs, unifies focus on Web-based communication
Mozilla Messaging, citing Mozilla's increased focus on Web-borne communications, will be reintegrating with Mozilla Labs.
The Messaging subsidiary was formed in 2008 to focus on Thunderbird, but given Mozilla Labs' current focus on identity and contact management, it now makes sense for the groups to be merged. Thunderbird will be unaffected by the change -- some URLs might change, but that's it -- and presumably Messaging's F1 and Raindrop will thrive in the Labs playground.
What this means for the end user -- for the hundreds of millions of Firefox users -- is that the next big additions will be communication- and messaging-oriented. Contacts and F1 will be almost certainly be baked into Firefox 5 or 6, both of which will be released this year -- and, who knows, there might be something else even more exciting up Mozilla Labs' sleeve!Mozilla Messaging reintegrates with Labs, unifies focus on Web-based communication originally appeared on Download Squad on Tue, 05 Apr 2011 07:00:00 EST. Petraeus Confirmed As New CIA Director
Arguably America's most famous military commander in a generation, Petraeus has been in charge of U.S.-led international forces in Afghanistan since June 2010. The West Point graduate and 37-year Army veteran is also credited with turning around the war in Iraq, from which U.S. troops have been withdrawing in large numbers.
