'Full House' Star Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Battle with Bulimia

Candace Cameron Bure is most famous for playing the lovable D.J. Tanner on the cheery sitcom Full House, but life wasn't always so carefree for the child star. In her new book, Reshaping It All, the 34-year-old reveals that she struggled with bulimia in her 20s.
"It's a very dangerous cycle that can just start to consume your life and really take over," Bure told People.com about the eating disorder.
In her new memoir, the actress reveals that her binging and purging began after Full House went off the air in 1995. She had married NHL player Valeri Bure and moved to Canada and was having trouble adjusting to her new life.
"It wasn't about me trying to lose weight," Bure revealed. "It was all about emotions."
Today Bure is healthier than ever and in the best shape of her life, staying active with the help of her family, including her husband and their three children, Natasha, 12, Lev, 10, and Maks, 8. As for her diet, Bure says she allows herself to eat anything -- including dessert -- all in moderation.
